So true! What a difference it makes to take the time to listen and give feedback with patience. Too often (I hate to say) I’ve seen teachers or staff snap at a child, maybe from their own froairsttun or impatience. How can a child feel a sense of trust with that adult? I am fortunate to be in a supportive role in my position, so I can have the advantage of being off to the side a little. I observe quite a lot in terms of interaction – some very positive, some not so much. My personal goal is to give children my time and my full attention as much as possible.
